Because "tomorrow" is a myth.

I have never believed in "tomorrow". There is actually no tomorrow. There is only a today and a lot has to be completed.

My paternal grandmother passed away in 2004. She had not been keeping well. I always had in my mind that I have to meet her before it gets too late but school and studies came in my way and one day before i realized it was too late, she was gone. Gone forever and I can never come over this thought that I could not see her for that one last time.

In 2015, I lost one of my closest friends to Depression. He lost his battle with the depression he had been fighting with and committed suicide. He just left us all to wonder what went wrong. I got the news after a couple of weeks of his demise.

This incident left me numb. I was too proud to share my numbness with any other person and I have seldom had a shoulder to keep my head on and weep.

Both the above incidents taught me that being nice is actually important. You never know if you'll ever see that person again in your life. This lock-down has made me ponder over a few things and I have realized that saying a Thank-you to someone who has done something nice for you is so essential. However a small deed it may be, greatness lies in it.

Being grateful to others is so uncommon nowadays. People do not understand the concept of being thankful to someone who has gone a step ahead to get that task done for you or to bring that smile on your face. I really wonder, had I spoken to my friend for one last time and told him that it was OK to be unemployed, it is fine to not look good every single day and it is fine to not have a perfect life. Or rather If I had that one last conversation with my Dadi and had said Thank you for what she had done for all of us.

See, sometimes it gets too late and we only have regret left with us. We all have our egos to flatter. We don't want to believe in humility and smile on someone looking at us. We just cannot. Has life become so rude? We all want to believe that "I am the best". Is it? Why don't you grab your phone for a selfie and see what you actually are? Life is too short for differences. We cannot afford to lose time.

Be grateful to every person who has crossed your path and made you smile. To that person who helped you get a job, who helped you while your tripped your feet and fell down. To that person who never misses a chance to let you know how much he loves you.

Be grateful my dear friends, before it is too late. As someone said, "Yesterday was history, tomorrow is a mystery. Today is the only gift you have and that is why it is called The Present".

So thank you for reading. Spread love.

Stay home. Stay safe.
